SOME Questions: THE TWENTYTEN
the twentyten is a clothing label based in New York. It is composed by Jeff Dodd, Nina Zilka and David J. Krause. The three designers met while studying Fashion Design at Pratt Institute. Their interest in creating fashion that could be both conceptual and accessible led them to form the twentyten. They create avant-garde pieces that still functional and are a member of the Pratt Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation.

SOME blog. : When and how did you exactly decided to be fashion designers?
the twentyten : We decided to be fashion designers because we were interested in the arts and creating beautiful things, but we also wanted to make something functional in the world.
SOME blog. : Did you ever think you were going to be where you are right now?
the twentyten : No, not at all. This company came about in a very organic way, because we started when we were students, just for fun, with no plan to make it a business, and by the time we graduated we were able to just keep it going.
SOME blog. : What does fashion means to you?
the twentyten : The constant change of style.
SOME blog. : Do you have a favorite designer?
the twentyten : the twentyten
SOME blog. : What inspires you? Where do you find inspiration?
the twentyten : The juxtapositions in nature and the environment.
SOME blog. : How would you describe your style?
the twentyten : Jeff is shabby chic, David wears a few sizes too big, and Nina wears whatever the twentyten designed for our last collection.
SOME blog. : What do you love the most about being fashion designers?
the twentyten : We get to work with ourselves everyday and creating an image people can wear.
SOME blog. : Is there anything you hate about it?
the twentyten : Yes. All the money we don't make.
SOME blog. : Where do you see the twentyten in the next years? What are your future plans?
the twentyten : We want to make shoes, accessories, a beauty line, the whole nine yards.
SOME blog. : What would you like to say to up and coming designers out there?
the twentyten : We are up and coming designers, so we say, watch out.

SOME Questions: FRANCESCA RAMIREZ
Francesca Ramirez is living her dream. Frankie, as many call her, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and has been involved with the performing arts since she was very young. She was given an opportunity by her father at an early age and from that moment on she has not stopped one second to do what she loves and enjoys the most.
She is a risk taker and never gives up. One day she decided to take a plane to pursue her dream and thanks to her enthusiasm and optimistic attitude she is now fulfilling it. The girl not only can sing and dance, but she's an actress too! And she has her own jewelry line...
SOME blog. : What would you call your first experience with music?
Francesca : Since a very young age, I enjoy dancing and singing in front of my family and teddy bears in my bedroom (she laughs), so I have to say when I was 4 years old I started developing a deep love for music.
SOME blog. : When and how did you exactly decide that you wanted to sing?
Francesca : My dad had a cover band called Flashback and needed a singer, I was 11 years old and told him to make me lead singer of his band (And he did!!). I became the lead singer for Flashback for several years gaining experience till I decided to go and audition for a singing competition.
SOME blog. : Did you ever think you were going to be where you are right now?
Francesca : I've always believed in myself and in what I have to offer as a singer/performer 100%, so I always knew it was going to happen sooner or later.
SOME blog. : What does music means to you?
Francesca : The world and my entire life! Music is everything for me... It always puts a smile in my face, it reliefs my stress, it makes me fall deeper in love with the person I love, it inspires me to be in shape and to do better. It makes me who I am.
SOME blog. : Do you have a favorite artist (any kind)?
Francesca : My hero was and will always be Michael Jackson.
SOME blog. : What inspires you? Where do you find inspiration?
Francesca : Everything that brings smiles and joy to people is what inspires me. I usually find myself and my inspiration at the beach or at a park where I can be alone.
SOME blog. : How would you describe your style?
Francesca : Sexy / Funky / Creative
SOME blog. : What do you love the most about being a performer?
Francesca : The look in people's faces (she laughs) and the amazing feeling I get when I'm doing it.
SOME blog. : Is there anything you hate about it?
Francesca : Noup.
SOME blog. : What are you doing at the moment apart from music?
Francesca : I have my own jewelry line, LUCKY FLIRTS, and I've been blessed to have many celebrities supporting it as their choice of accessories. It will be in many boutiques in Puerto Rico soon. I also started the lead role on an HBO pilot that is still waiting to be picked up, but acting is going very well. I really enjoy it as well.
SOME blog. : What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?
Francesca : I have to say becoming the lead singer for the Pussycat Dolls burlesque show in Los Angeles and being discovered by a huge executive producer has been the biggest achievement. I am currently working on a project to be out by summer.
SOME blog. : What advice can you give to boys and girls out there trying to make it into the music industry?
Francesca : I would say to never stop believing in yourself and very important: NEVER GIVE UP ON SOMETHING YOU CAN'T GO A DAY WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT!

SOME Questions: ZOILA ALGARIN
If I was asked: Who is your "muse"?, my answer would be Zoila Algarin. Not only she is one of my favorite models, but she is an accomplished professional woman too. A role model I dare to say...
Before I got involved with fashion photography, I had as one of my many goals to work with Zoila. Today, I'm happy to say I got to realize it more than once.
Zoila Algarin has it all: a beautiful face, a great physique and best of all an amazing personality. For me it is a pleasure to work with her and I am honored to have her being part of SOME. I was given the chance to interview her for the SOME Questions section and here are the results.

SOME blog. : Como y cuando decidiste empezar en el modelaje?
Zoila Algarin : Empeze inscribiendome en una escuela de modelaje mientras estudiaba en la Universidad. Lo que me motivo fueron los comentarios de mis amigos en la Escuela Superior de que parecia una modelo y decidi intentarlo. Luego de seis meses de clases participe en mi primer casting y fui escogida. Luego de eso fui fotografiada para editoriales de belleza en las revistas locales y la historia continua.
SOME blog. : Alguna vez pensaste que llegarias a donde has llegado?
Zoila Algarin : No, nunca lo pense. Ni tampoco pense que modelaria por mas de 10 a~os. Ha sido grandioso el camino y creo que mientras pueda seguire haciendo fotos.
SOME blog. : Que significa la moda para ti?
Zoila Algarin : Para mi la moda significa creatividad, innovacion, versatilidad y arte para combinar estilos.
SOME blog. : Tienes algun dise~ador favorito?
Zoila Algarin : Me encanta Stella Nolasco.
SOME blog. : Que te inspira? Donde encuentras inspiracion?
Zoila Algarin : Lo que me inspira es lo que me rodea. Prefiero hacer las fotos en exteriores porque hay variedad y me encanta conocer nuevos lugares.
SOME blog. : Como describirias tu estilo?
Zoila Algarin : Mi estilo es bien casual. Yo prefiero la comodidad y como soy "friolenta" siempre voy abrigada.
SOME blog. : Que es lo que mas te gusta del modelaje?
Zoila Algarin : Lo mas que me gusta es el proceso de produccion (maquillaje, peinado y la ropa). Este puede durar una hora o mas. Ademas, escuchar la propuesta de lo que se quiere lograr, compartir con el equipo y ver el resultado final.
SOME blog. : Hay algo que no te guste?
Zoila Algarin : No, todo me gusta.
SOME blog. : Cual consideras que ha sido tu mayor logro dentro del modelaje?
Zoila Algarin : Pienso que el mayor logro fue modelar fuera de Puerto Rico. Empeze el modelaje con el sue~o de poder viajar y me alegra que lo hice realidad.
SOME blog. : Y el mayor logro en tu vida?
Zoila Algarin : El mayor logro de mi vida (hasta ahora) fue continuar los estudios despues del Bachillerato.
SOME blog. : Como logras hacer un balance entre tu profesion y el modelaje?
Zoila Algarin : Hoy en dia trabajo a tiempo completo, pero me mantengo realizando fotos en mi tiempo libre.
SOME blog. : Que consejo le darias a modelos que se estan iniciando en el campo?
Zoila Algarin : El mejor consejo es intentarlo. Hay mercado para todo tipo de modelo. Yo, aunque soy "bajita" pude modelar. Asi que no se pierde nada por intentarlo.

SOME Questions: ECLIPTICA
Puerto Rican designers Michelle Otero Ramirez (April 4, 1978 - Santurce, PR) and Norein Otero Ramirez (February 22, 1980 - Santurce, PR) are more than simply sisters. Together, they are Ecliptica, a fashion dynamic duo often described as very fun and feminine.
SOME blog. : When and how did you exactly decided to be fashion designers?
Ecliptica is having a great year so far! They presented a collection this season at the New York Fashion Week and they are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this month. SOME blog. had the opportunity to ask the girls a couple of questions... and here are their answers!
SOME blog. : When and how did you exactly decided to be fashion designers?Ecliptica : We were exactly 17 and 19 when we decided to study fashion. It all came by pure coincidence. My sister already sewed her own dresses and I studied Art in the UPR. Later, we decided to enroll in Lisa Thon School of Design. We graduated together and did our end of course collection together as Ecliptica. From then on we have not stopped working.
SOME blog. : Did you ever think you were going to be where you are right now?
Ecliptica : Yes we did. We have worked for exactly what we are now and continue to work to get to where we want to go.
SOME blog. : What does fashion means to you?
Ecliptica : Fashion is an expression of the human creativity. It's how you feel. It's who you are. As serious as it may sound, at the end it's pure fun and joy of dressing.
SOME blog. : Do you have a favorite designer?
Ecliptica : Many, but study the original masters as Paul Poiret, Jeanne Lanvin, Madame Gres and Cristobal Balenciaga.
SOME blog. : What inspires you? Where do you find inspiration?
Ecliptica : We find it in art movements, different nationalities and cultures and music...
SOME blog. : How would you describe your style?
Ecliptica : It's contemporary, but with vintage influences and very feminine.
SOME blog. : What do you love the most about being fashion designers?
Ecliptica : CREATING!
SOME blog. : Is there anything you hate about it?
Ecliptica : NO.
SOME blog. : Being able to expose a collection during New York Fashion Week is perhaps a must in every designer's goals list. You had the opportunity to do so... How does it feel?
Ecliptica : It feels like a finalized dream, but at the same time, the beginning of lots of more things to come.
SOME blog. : What would you like to say to up and coming designers out there?
Ecliptica : Find your own signature look and define who you are by searching for uniqueness and originality.
